Today you'll take a very special train journey aboard the Bernina Express, a 100 year old route that's been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status. You'll make your way through tunnels and over bridges, including the landmark Landwasser Viaduct, with deep ravines below you and picturesque waterfalls by your window. The rugged landscape of the Engadine Valley passes by your window, before this historic route takes you through the Albula Tunnel and over the Bernina Pass, then descends towards Poschiavo, the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Colourful, pastel houses line the street as you continue on and cross into Italy. This spectacular journey ends in Tirano, where the return journey begins back to St Moritz where you'll spend your second night in your chosen hotel.

You'll board the magnificent Glacier Express today, for an incredible journey through this alpine landscape. Following breakfast in your hotel this morning, you'll take the train from Zermatt to Montreux, stopping briefly in Visp along the way. Relax and watch the rolling landscapes pass by your window as your journey take you into the beautiful Rhone Valley, before arriving in the pretty lakeside town of Montreux. On arrival in Montreux you'll be transferred to your hotel. Choose between our 3*, 4* and 5* hotels, on a B&B basis.
